Bookbinding and paper folding force you to slow down, focus, and turn a blank sheet into something extraordinary. You'll transform blank pages into art pieces, books, or even immersive installations. This workshop offers a chance to slow down, combining the timeless art of bookbinding and paper folding with the power of visual communication. Paper is a magical medium, and by combining its textures, colors, and forms with graphic elements, you’ll discover endless creative possibilities. In the Fold Papers to Unfold Stories workshop, participants will dive into different paper types, binding techniques, and folding methods while using visual communication tools like collage, typography, and photography. Through hands-on projects, from creating tessellations that become lampshades, to documenting unique Berlin locations, repetitive objects (like Kiosks in Egypt), etc in leporello books enhanced by Augmented Reality (AR). magine capturing the essence of Berlin's culture and transforming it into a 360° experience with soundscapes that play when users interact with your creations. The workshop culminates in a collaborative group project where attendees will create a postcard each expressing “Berlin through My Eyes,” contributing to a shared Blizzard Book ( a copy for each)—a keepsake representing the power of diverse perspectives coming together. By the end of the workshop, participants walk away with hands-on knowledge of paper, stitching, folding, and the art of storytelling through design.
