AR Berlin Stories.

This workshop introduces university students to the fundamentals of Augmented Reality (AR) and how it can be used in visual storytelling. Using Berlin’s history and culture spaces as inspiration, students will create an AR-enhanced visual communication piece such as a poster, postcard, magazine spread, or short interactive guide map. The final works will combine traditional design skills with digital overlays such as animation, sound, 3D elements, or interactive components. The workshop responds to the growing use of AR as a key trend in contemporary design and visual communication. It shows students how digital layers can expand printed and physical design into interactive experiences, a skill increasingly valued in creative and cultural industries. By combining creative thinking with hands-on experimentation, the workshop prepares students to work across physical and digital spaces, strengthens their storytelling abilities, and encourages innovative, future-oriented design practice.
